We are a Fine Arts and Quality Crafts Cooperative
Our Gallery has been open in the same place for nearly 21 years. Our cooperative has grown in both number of members and material for sale. All work in the gallery has been juried by a fixed number of members. We pride ourselves on the quality of each and every persons work. All members pitch in one day a month, every month, to act as manager, sales person, custodian and overseer. We invite you to come and see us often.
of the Month
Our Artisan of the Month is Tim Wright who was raised in Nelson County. Watercolor has always captivated him. He is a creator of beautiful things and an accomplished craftsman. He once showed furniture and woodturnings in local galleries and festivals. He has settled into his medium and watercolor is his passion. His talent is God given and he is self taught. Pressed to excel, he has developed a watercolor style of classic proportions. His renderings of realism and clarity will cause one to pause and take notice. His portraits are life-like and inspiring. They are able to translate emotion to the onlooker often leaving one in awe, joyful, or a bit uncomfortable as they convey the mood of his subject.
What's New This Month?
Jo Anne Farrell says, "I've been "retired" for about a year but we have moved from the farm and gotten ourselves settled and I found I can make soap without a big workshop. Making soaps and lip butters is too much fun to stop doing so I've opened an Etsy store instead of keeping up the website." Jo Anne says that this is her new website.
She will continue to show her Nantucket Baskets here at Valley Green Gallery and she will have herr soaps and lip butters at the gallery as well. See some of her new She will continue to show he and new photos by clicking soaps on the Navigation Bar above.
